Robotics Club Paves Way for New STEM and Programming Offerings
Posted on 02/10/2017

One of the newest and fastest-growing clubs at Bishop Ahr High School is the Robotics Club, advised by Mr. Kondracki. The club was established as a means for interested students to foster their knowledge of engineering and STEM fields and is a precursor to new engineering and computer programming courses to be offered starting in September 2017.

In addition to creating new robotic designs and building robots with different capabilities, the club also introduces students to the engineering profession as well as the engineering design process. Through collaborative team activities, projects, and problems, club members solve problems as they practice common engineering design and development protocols.

The club is also vigorously preparing to start participating as a team in the highly competitive national FIRST Robotics Competition and Technical Design Challenge beginning in September 2017. In these competitions, team members will use 3D design and modeling software along with a 3D printer to create and build their very own robotic prototype, which will then compete against other schools from around the country. The Robotics Club is looking forward to a bright future and welcomes any student interested in joining in on all the excitement!
