Testing Information

Below you will find all relevant information pertaining to tests taken by St. Thomas Aquinas High School students.

PSAT / NMSQT

Who: The PSAT will be administered to all sophomores and juniors
When: Wednesday, October 16, 2019
Please note that there is no makeup date for this test

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Regular busing will be provided
Students should report to their assigned classrooms by 7:58 a.m.

Fee: $25.00
Cash - please place in a sealed envelope with child's name on it
Check - please make check payable to: St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and place the child's name in the liner notes

What to Bring: Test Fee of $25.00
Two #2 non-mechanical pencils
Calculator with fresh batteries

ITED (Iowa Test of Educational Development)

This is a test of basic skills (reading, writing and math), and passing all three parts of this test is a requirement for graduation.

Who: The ITED is administered to all freshmen and any upperclassman who has not yet taken it, OR those who have not passed* all portions of the test.

*If a student has not passed a portion/portions of the test, they will retake only those sections they still need to pass.

When: Spring 2019

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Regular busing is available

What to Bring: Two #2 pencils

Special Notes: Transfer students are required to take the test in September, unless they have taken and passed this specific test in their previous school.  Test results must be provided to Mrs. Veni, Director of Counseling prior to the test date.

Upperclassmen who did not pass a portion/portions of the test will be notified by Ms. Ricciardi regarding their retesting date, as it may differ from the March date.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

Advanced Placement exams are administered to all students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses. Taking the exam is a requirement of taking the course. Exam dates are set by College Board. Make-up exams are only given for very specific reasons. Those reasons, dates and possible fees are outlined by College Board in the student's AP Guide.

Who: A subject-specific AP Exam is administered to a student enrolled in that particular Advanced Placement course

Time: Students with an 8:00 a.m. exam should report to school no later than 7:15 a.m.

Students with a 12:00 noon exam should report to school no later than 11:15 a.m.

All AP Exams will be administered in the Catanzaro Gym

Bills will be mailed home in January
Bills must be paid in full by Friday, March 8, 2019
